12 days till Christmas!

Well, we have started our 12 days Christmas countdown with a happy snow day off of school.  We are both delighted it fell on this weekend because we have dedicated this weekend to each other.  It won't be long now till family and our the newest member of the LeBlanc whanau arrives so Robert and I said that this weekend is for us.

We just went for a walk to take snaps of our neighborhood.  Robert is getting the fire ready to be lit for an evening of snuggling and watching Christmas movies.

I love our jobs!  I love where we live, and I love life!

Sinner's Corner

Every new comer to Amman must find this little gem of a street.  It holds the nickname of 'sinner's corner' because there is a pork shop which sells, wait for it..........BACON!

There is also a divine shop called 'Shiraz' next door and the owner is a lovely, lovely man who is very knowledgable in the rug department.  He has recently published a book about the rugs he has purchased and sold onto the new museum of Jordan.

More rugs :)

The owner is such a nice man.  He has become one of our friends!

One thing I love about living in Jordan

The RUGS!!  Since moving here, Robert and I have become rug lovers.  These were rugs we found at our school's annual Christmas Bazaar.  We actually bought the one in the middle.  It was too nice to say no.

Baby Shower in Amman

I am incredibly grateful to have such thoughtful, caring friends here in Amman.  They organised such a lovely event for our little baby to be.   It was a book themed shower with many colours.  My friends here know that I love rainbow, bright colours not nasty pastel colours so they made sure that no one bought anything pastel :-)  In the middle of the shower, I got quite emotional and blurted out, "I just hope that this little one likes rainbows as much as I do!"  One of my friends said, "She'll probably be a goth and like nothing but black!"  Oh dear - I can't imagine a child of mine not enjoying colours.

Our friend, Jill, had her baby boy.  Here, Arthur is a week old and dressed in stripes.  He is a little cutie!

This is my dear friend Lindsey who helped organise the party :-)

Amazing cupcakes made by my friend's sister. They were so good, no one wanted to eat them so I took them in for my students who enjoyed them.

This is my dear friend Lisa who hosted and organised the party.

Two more lovely ladies from my school knitted a blanket for our little baby to be!  I am so touched by their love, generosity, kindness and creativity.  This little one is going to be very lucky indeed :-)
